Just got the WCL-100 wide angle attachment for a 28mm equivalent field of view. It's excellent!

The grip is low tech, but it works great for me. It's two pieces of aluminum that you screw together with an allen wrench (grip and base plate). The base plate has a leather liner that also goes behind the grip so that there's a leather strip between the base plate and camera bottom as well as between the vertical grip and the camera itself. I super-glued the liner to the back of the grip to make sure it wouldn't move.

I got it from a seller on eBay. Here's the link.

I hate to derail the conversation from the 28mm converter, but that grip is pretty cool - reminds me of the GMP grip I have on my M3. How solid is the construction - any possibility of it coming unscrewed (and sending the X100 on a tumble)?

The grip is held to the camera by a 1/4" nut that you have to provide yourself. I'm using a nut which has a built in ring so that I can attach a hand lanyard to it as well. Here's a link.

Could the nut come loose? If properly installed, it seems very unlikely.
