There are two separate things going on here: IR sensitivity and "color" response to IR. I tried IR with the XPro 1 (can't remember the filter) and found that the camera worked well with my old 35 Summaron -- IR sensitivity was about 1/15 of visible light. But the color was, due to the filter of course, all magenta. The resulting file looks great in a B&W conversion, but is not the "false color" image that some might expect. I assume that the XE-1 has the same IR cut filter as its older sibling.
