In my opinion it is way too expensive. Especially when compared to other top macro lenses from other brands. I'll stick to my extension tube and Leica 60/2.8 for now.

i recently bought a nice used copy of the fuji 60 macro and quite enjoy using it so the temptation for this new 80 macro is lessened considerably.
i think i'd get the 90 before any other lens choice atm...sorta thinking about the 14 again too.

no joy at the camera store today...while they did have an 80 it was not yet on the demo shelf for playing with...i did try the 90 again...nice lens but if i were to get into portraits in a bigger way then i'd just use the 56 fuji...
on another note...i used the 16 on the xe3 today and i have to say it was a comfortable combo...amazing that the tiny xe3 can bond with a bigger lens so well.

The Fujinon XF 80mm f2.8 macro is kind of big, heavy and sort of clunky, but it sure produces some nice images. I find it quite versatile, good for standard macro stuff as well as portraits and street photography too.
