Hi, all.

First time poster here. I just bought a Fujica GM670 (The Tank) and when I went to load my first roll, I noticed that the start mark seems to have worn off (or fallen off?). Does anyone have any experience with this camera? Anyone have a suggestion for how I might determine where exactly to stop winding? I'd appreciate any guidance.

Thanks,

Cheston.

My memory (of the G690 I no longer own) is that the red dot at the far upper right of the film guide is your film start. The Butkus manual (God bless Mr Butkus) confirms this (and shows it in the original Fujica manual) but read it through yourself rather than rely on my 5min web sleuthing. Enjoy it. I have the modern folding descendant.

I confirm what Robert says above. There is a red dot recessed on the upper right by the film rail. Know that film advance is two full strokes, and that there is no racketing available to multistroke like on a Leica M3 DS. If you do not fully stroke the film advance twice you will have overlapping film spacing.

I thought the second stroke cocks the shutter, so you can't even fire without doing full two strokes? at least on my G690BL and the GW690

The same goes for the GM670. If you (can) get overlap, the transport mechanism needs an overhaul.

Thanks a lot, all! For some reason I thought it was in the center, like on the Mamiya 7. I see the red dot.

Excited to give this thing a whirl. Carrying it around is sure to double as an upper body workout, too. God, it's a tank!

Cheers,

Cheston.
