I'm so happy with my Wide 60 Fuji GS645S that I'm thinking of adding the Fujica GS645 with the 75mm lens. I'm curious about the closing of the front cover. Set lens to infinity and cock shutter. Why cock the shutter? If I was not using the camera for a while wouldn't this have some sort of affect on the shutter spring ( if it has one )? What would be the cost of a CLA, or at the very least, the cost of new bellows? Frank Marshman still service these?
I read this post http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111929 from a few years back. Good info in there, but I'm still curious about the shutter cocked when the cover is closed.

Page 14 of the manual explains why it needs to be cocked before closing:

Totally poor design. Charming camera, which is why I spent so much time and $ fixing mine.

I read something to the same effect.
Bummer. The use prices are too high now and with the bellows replacement and maybe the shutter fix, too much.
My Fuji GS645S on the other hand has been great so far.
I like the idea of a lightweight 120 camera with great lens and a rangefinder. Meter is fine but I get by without.

I've never owned a better camera that was such a pain to keep working.
