SHHHH!!! You guys are gonna make the prices go up if you keep posting such great shots!

C200 is by far my fave cheapo film, though not as cheapo as it used to be here in the States. Love the fine grain and cool palette, handles home developing in Tetenal well, scans easily.... just the best bang for the buck. Looks like Fuji is only offering 3 packs of 36exp 35mm rolls here anymore, though.

I see a few comments about this film having fine grain. Really? For a film that barely has ISO 200 sensitivity and obvious grain, maybe more obvious that Fuji's ISO 400 film, I don't get the fine grain comments. If this film is fine grain, how would we describe say, Ektar 100?

I got that deal too from Adorama! I bought 100 rolls, and now wish I bought all they had! Mine I think was $1.49/36exp.

Rich, just to confirm, the 12 packs at 4300 yen are Industrial 400 film right? I’ve never heard of 12 packs personally, but if that’s what they are I suggest you buy it ALL because 10 packs are selling on www.amazon.co.jp for 13,300 yen! 😱

last time i check both shops still have them, even the ones at ogikubo but some shops are setting a limit. it seems that some foreigners from across the sea are buying them in bulk to sell for profit online, leaving the shops with no stocks at all 😱😱😱

I think they look great - surprisingly so as I tend to dislike the cheaper Kodak films, but prefer Portra to the Fuji equivalents.

For those in the UK, Firstcall is selling expired C200 (july 2018) at £1.50 per 24. So ordered some and some in date 36s.

Using the Tetenal 2.5 litre kit, I can get about 35 rolls out of a £46 kit, so it works out at under 20p per exposure. Which is peanuts.

Thanks! Normally, I find that C200 and Superia 400 aren't great for skin tones - usually too much red/magenta cast. Maybe certain skin tones are affected more than others. In any case, this one turned out ok, with developing and scanning done by Precision Camera, plus a little bit more post work in LR6.

Based on your recommendations (among other factors), I feel like I'm reaching a tipping point for taking color developing and scanning "in-house", using Negative Lab Pro.

Well, my delivery of Fujicolor 200 (1 year expired and fresh) arrived yesterday, so I popped an expired roll in each of the Olympus Mju II (consumer film in a consumer camera) and the Voigtlander Bessaflex with Zeiss Flektogon and Ultron (as a test with professional glass). One I think was more faded than the other and probably could have done with another half stop exposure. Photos taken around the Portobello Road market with the sun rather elusive.

Lovely blues, a nice cool tone and really pretty accurate rendition. Controlled grain and very appealing film. Developed and scanned at home with only limited post processing, no saturation, but light balance, contrast and clarity adjustments.

I think the issue with people getting poor results with film like this is that they view it as a low quality film and so take it to the cheapest quickie lab they can find to process it. Those places more often than not (in my experience) could not care less about your film, do not adequately maintain their equipment or keep an eye on the chemistry, and so give awful results.
If you took a roll of Portra, 400H etc to them, the results would look awful with those too.

Great images Huss! A question if you don't mind me asking: How do you get the colourful markings on and around the sprockets? Or is this the way C200 comes out after development (and after inversion to positive of course)?
