Fujifilm 24mm f/8 X-Mount "Filter In Cap Lens"

Hard to get excited about this when the 27 is selling in North America for $199
Maybe it'll produce some funky Holga-like results...

The 50mm teleconverter for the X100S would seem like the bigger news to me. I hadn't heard about it (not that I own an X100S).

i think it's cool they've offered this, similar to the olympus body cap lenses but a bit thicker than i expected. should make a fun street shooter.

If it is a market niche, Fuji should test it out.
But with toy lenses, accessories and such (where high quality is not a concern), I think smaller companies will seriously undercut Fuji pricing in the end.

I agree with jsrockit... and to me priced right would be $50. However I have a feeling it will be more like $100. Keep in mind that Loreo's own Lens-in-a-cap is $40 at most for Canon/Nikon mount.

There are some rumors going around that Lomography is looking to make an X-Mount version of their M4/3 lens kit. That kit is $90 USD for 3 different lenses with 3 fields of view and their own shutters. I'd pay $100 for that kit for the X-mount vs the lens-in-a-cap version.

Ok, more info...

"There is a product of the concept similar to Olympus, but the characteristic X-MOUNT FILTER IN CAP LENS is, it has a built-in filter. Can be applied turret-type filter by turning the dial of the lens barrel. Position of the dial are the four lens barrier, pan-focus shooting, soft filter applied, the filter cross application."

I agree… I've been hoping that Fuji would come out with a 'sister' of the WCL-X100 (28mm) conversion lens. That lens is superb. I hope the 50mm version is equal in image and build quality.

Seems too similar to the 27mm. If it were something more around 18mm or wider it would make more sense, even if it had pinhole-ishly bad corners.

Glad to hear about the lomo lens kit coming to x mount. TBH I really dislike lomography as a company but three tiny manual lenses for under 100 bucks is too good to pass up.

I'm gonna say, I don't really get these kind of body cap lenses that aren't really a body cap at all. I dunno, if I want bad photos I'll use a holga nomsayin?
