Fujifilm 24mm f/8 X-Mount "Filter In Cap Lens"

Then again, for minimal amount of cash you get another lens to use that may come in handy one day.

Ok, more info...

"There is a product of the concept similar to Olympus, but the characteristic X-MOUNT FILTER IN CAP LENS is, it has a built-in filter. Can be applied turret-type filter by turning the dial of the lens barrel. Position of the dial are the four lens barrier, pan-focus shooting, soft filter applied, the filter cross application."

That's what I was thinking, had to be sumpin' like that.

I'll wait to see the images and...the price. Could be cool for shooting at day time festivals and things.

Fuji is already pushing the minimal postprocessing line anyway with their in-camera jpegs. This just follows that line.

I've been using my Olympus body cap lens for skiing, where I appreciate the low profile and inexpensiveness ~ plus the snow is bright enough for f/8 even on a grey day.

Compared to the relatively small 20mm pancake, the body cap lens makes a camera like the Panasonic GX1 truly pocketable or easy to wear under a coat.

I don't care about the corners that much for situations where I'd use it.

It's a 4/4 design and looks like it has a focus wheel.

Pretty lavish for a lens cap, especially so should it be priced equally to the Olympus one.

Glad to hear about the lomo lens kit coming to x mount. TBH I really dislike lomography as a company but three tiny manual lenses for under 100 bucks is too good to pass up.

It's still just a rumor at this point and no one from Lomography will confirm or deny it. I do think that the X mount (as well as the other mount systems for Sony and others) are a great platform to do these kinds of lenses.

And if Fuji executes this new lens properly, it could be a real fun lens to put on your X Mount camera to play around with some outside the box photos.

It does look kind of big, I wonder if they didn't make it smaller and more like a lens cap due to wanting the filter ring or because of focal length or something?

The 50mm teleconverter for the X100S would seem like the bigger news to me. I hadn't heard about it (not that I own an X100S).

It will be quite difficult (if not impossible) to do it optcally since tele converter can only attached "behind"the given lens, wide converter goes in front of the lens, like the 28mm
However, the firmware update can give you 50mm crop function like the GR does.

It actually goes in front. Screw on converter called tcl. Check jsrocket's post on it in the Fuji x100 forum.
