Just read this report on Thom Hogan's site, dated 02 November:

Fujifilm UK just gave a one-year advance notice of the closing of their E6 lab in Britain. All pre-paid mail vouchers must be used before November 1st, 2014.

This seems more like a partnership ending than the closing a facility, though. Fujifilm's E6 processing was done by CC Imaging, and they will continue to process E6 film after November 2014. What's really happening here is that Fujifilm is getting out of mailer business and having their own branded E6 processing.

Fuji no longer sells prepaid slide film (here in UK at least) so they no longer have a need for an arrangement with a lab. There are still plenty of labs here (including the one that Fuji have been using) but you have to wonder for how long they will continue, what with no Kodak, Fuji expensive and Agfa being re-branded Fuji.

As has been pointed out above, Fuji deleted their process paid film a while back (August 2010) link.
While disappointing it's not a shock as they are just giving an advance warning to people who still have mailers.

What is sad is that this has to be 'Fuji closes it's lab' when the Leeds lab is staying put for now, just the agreement with Fuji is stopping.
Such is the sensationalist world we live in, real news isn't so interesting so lets put up an 'end of the world' type headline.

In reality though Fuji is pretty much the only game in town hopefully they sell enough to keep the support system alive–only time will tell.

Time to order some more E6 and enjoy it while I can.
