Fujifilm not sold in normal consumer local stores ?? why?

I notice that over here (USA), most of the local supermarkets (Krogers, Meijer, Shoprite, StopShop, Pathmark, Dominicks) as well as CVS,Walgreens etcetc dont seem to carry FUJI film.
There is always a plenty of Kodak film.
I very rarely see FUJI being sold (besides the disposable cameras at times)

Why is that so?

Because they have exclusives with Kodak.

Try Wal*Mart.

They have an agreement with FujiFilm USA. I can always find rolls cheaply there.

Costco has fuji 400 print film in packs of 6. Something with an 'a' as the last letter in the name.. X-tra I think it is.
It's worth being a costco member just to have access to the noritsu there.

Target has a few rolls of fuji sometimes, but they seem to be trying to shy away from film altogether.

In New Orleans I can find 200, 400, and 800 Fuji at Target, Sav-a-Center (grocery store), and Rite Aid. For anything 100 I have to go to a photo store.

A local Costco has a flyer advertising a 5 pack/24 exposure Superia for $8.49...I gotta check this out.

Here in Indianapolis Fuji is available at Walgreens, in addiiton to Walmart, Target, Costco, Meijer, etc.

Ritz/Wolfes Camera and any other related store names carry Fuji Film... They have cleverly disguised it in their own name brand film boxes...
They use Fuji equipment to develope the film and prints...soooooo it makes sense that the film is also Fuji...
They don't carry the full range of Fuji's products, mostly 200 & 400 ASA (C-41 film)

All the grocery stores in the Madison area that I've checked carry Fuji Supermarket, er Superia. It's handy to grab a 4 pack when you're in line especially since, for many reasons, I far prefer Fuji to Kodak.

I usually get Fuji at Target' and (do I dare admit shopping there anymore?) Wally World. Also Sam's Club. The indie camera shops will always have it, but they (the one around here anyway) are not very competitive on film.

Walgreens has Fuji, but it's now disguised as Walgreens brand. I've verified that it's indeed Fuji from the negative strips. Unfortunately I can usually get the Fuji branded stuff cheaper at Target'.

At Kroger/Baker/Smiths/etc. they have their own Kroger brand, which is actually Ferrania, or was when I last tried it. Very "OK". Often priced more than Fuji at Target'.

Yellow boxes are somewhat more common than green boxes, but you do see the green ones if you look around.

Chances are the private label films are made by Fuji. I found locally here Fuji is available at Shoppers Drug Mart, and a couple of supermarkets. However with my last trip to my local Costco, I could not find any film.

It is the same here in Sweden where I live. To get my Fuji Realia I have to go the the photo shops but I can pick up a Kodak Gold in allmost any stor selling cameras and electronics etc. I have noticed the same in many other markets whehn travelling....
