fujifilm price increase by 5%

That's fine with me. I use a lot of film from them, and here in Japan the prices aren't that expensive to begin with.

Actually, I could never understand how they could sell Fuji Superia X-tra 400 for $7.99 for 6 rolls at Costco. I used the stuff like I was eating popcorn, I wonder what Costco, which is death to vendors, will price FSX400 now.

Good for Fuji, if it means they can stay in business and continue to supply us with great film.

It's kind of surprising, actually, to see them bringing out improvements so often (new Velvia RVP100 and Provia 400X in the past few months alone) when film is supposedly dead. I for one am grateful for their continuing innovation and hope they're in it for the long haul.

Keep Ilford in your prayers, too. 🙂

5%? That's all? Whew!

Seriously, given the jump in oil of late I had expected far worse. Keep on cranking out the Reala, guys 😉

5% does not sound like much, but in Europe films are already so expensive that adding another 5% on the prices does not seem a necessary nor a wise move from Fujifilm. I bet they are already making a lot of yens from the European market due to strong Euro and Fujifilm does not have any factories in Europe either.

So, I hope that the actual price increases will be less than 5% in the Euro region at least. However, I have not checked the rates of the currency used by those
stubborn island dwellers (And I don't mean Malta or Cypros) 😀
