The parallax correction is optional. The correction creates a second focus region box that estimates the actual focus region. This estimate is based on the focus distance. The second box approaches the area of the non-corrected box as the subject distance increases. The estimate is updated every time the focus changes. The estimate uncertainty increases as the subject distance decreases.
The finder frame borders shift as well. In general the OVF frame estimate is more conservative compared to many mechanical RFs. I had no problem adjusting my framing. I must say it is convenient to quickly switch to the EVF when WYSIWYG frame borders are useful.
I forget what happens in manual focus mode when focus is set using the lens collar only. I'm traveling so I can't check with my X-Pro 1.

This same focus mechanism, which actually even improves over the RF patch, in that its in the bottom corner and not in the middle and therefore, less distracting.
Now, there is no doubt that Xpro2 has the same focus mechanism, along with the 24mp new sensor.
In other words, bye bye Leica.

i must admit this is mildly tempting even though i hate xtrans and the hard shutter release on the X100 ... the inclusion of face detection, hallelujah!

I see a lot about X100T features but nothing about the sensor. Has it changed?

And this does not happen w/ other camera maker lenses at times as well?
I haven't notice this happening very option..not enough to worry about it. I do however have a lens hood on the camera.. When it happens, I just use the same trick I did back in the days of film.. Try to use my left hand to shade the lens and take the picture w/ my other hand if I can't find a shady place to shoot from.

The basic sensor is the same..but there could be an improvement in the way of pdaf (since pdaf sites are located on the sensor surface)...not sure...since it looks to have about the same af speed and almost as good in terms of evf as xt1, the digital path components and CPU have definitely improved.

That brings up an interesting question.
It is taking a while but... it takes a while to actually create a real improvement.
The cycle time on the Xpro1-Xpro2 seems like it's more realistic than we have to come to expect.
Remember when Contax, Nikon, Minolta, and Olympus would offer the same models for half a decade or more before offering new models?
Tech is at this point where actual performance and output improvements are so marginal models don't need to cycle so fast anymore.
It's become a marketing game to introduce models so quickly (led by king Sony!).
Seems like Fuji is deviating at least a little bit although... the XT1 special edition is all marketing!! (oh.. ok, an electronic shutter is a real deal offering 🙂 )
I'm still working an Xpro1 and added an XE1. I don't see a model out there yet that offers a value improvement over these two at this moment.
The Xpro especially.

Yeah, just saw a minimal use XE-1 go for $250 on another site. At those prices I'am very tempted.

Yeah, I agree... I had the X-T1 and X100s and still preferred the X-Pro1. At this point, I kind of know what I want from Fuji... and it isn't any of its current offerings.

I'm glad Fuji did not add any fancy stuff like a flip-flop lcd screen or something like that... They stuck to what I still think is an excellent design and improved on it instead of trying to fix what is not broken.
If my financial situation allows I will upgrade from my X100 to the T around Christmas time.

my knee jerk of the X100T: I like the sensor I have in my x100 versus the Xtrans images Ive seen in the 100s, i do not care about the additional 4MP's of the 16 versus my 12MP, Ill stick with the x100 as my only digital to compliment my work on film. And Ill still wait for the XPII announcement…..
