I'm sure it's a great camera, but they really need to get rid of the built-in flash! I'm just going to hope that the black version looks better.

Flash is good to have, -3, high ISO gives no deep shadows, but well lighten faces.
I hope one day they will make its lens with manual focus scale.

A wonderful all-purpose camera. Flash, great viewfinder, EVF if needed, leaf shutter. The lens update was about time in the fifth iteration of the camera.

Probably no hard stops at the ends of the focus ring's travel. Tabs aren't so much use when the focus ring position isn't tied to the lens's focus distance.

New lens, new sensor, tilt screen, and it’ll be faster In every way. For those that want a Q type lens, are you willing to pay a lot more for it? Probably not right...

Q focus scale is not good example. Here is no five/four meters mark. Infinity, next to it two meters, next to it one and then long trow after one meter.

Well, both Fuji and Oly have flat focus ring. Taab will do it or just cable tie.

I'm no fan of tilt screens but I'm sure this will be another winner for Fuji. Thank God the tilt screen actually tilts instead of flipping. I really dislike that flippin' screen on the new XPro.

It looks like it's grown a tad. That's okay with me but I wouldn't want it to get much bigger.

As for the looks...it is getting uglier by the model. The last really pretty X100 was the "S" in my opinion. I really love the looks of that and the original model. Speed be damned--give me a pretty camera!

I like the tilt screen ... it’s a WLF for street photos. And useful for close to ground shots.

I just wish it was 28mm equiv.

The specs make this look like my next Fuji camera. I've had the X100 for years and I still use it, but lament the lens which is soft close up at f2 and a few other quirks. A better lens, tilting touchscreen for waist level shooting and upgraded sensor would be great. I'm all for tilting touchscreens, they can be so useful.

I'm just curious because I have the opposite opinion - I love the scale on the Leica but hate the one on the Olympus (and Fuji manual clutch lenses).

Do you often shoot super close to your subject?

I'm a street shooter, so am most often focused on people 2 or 3 meters away. I often go up or down to 1 meter or 5 meters, depending on if people are closer or farther away.

The Leica scale is perfect for me because when the tab is

Straight down = close to subject = 1.2-1.5 meters
Slightly to the right = medium to subject = 2-3 meters
To the right (45 degrees) = far from subject = infinity

I've always wondered why Olympus and Fuji and everyone else designs their scale differently. I have always assumed it's because many/most people like to shoot up close (e.g., closer than 1 meter), while for me, that's not so useful.

For me, for example, the 1 meter or 0.7 meter minimum focus distance of rangefinder lenses is rarely an issue. But I imagine for many that really doesn't work for them.

The Leica Q focusing scale is a little odd because it skips over the usual 2-3-5-10 meter marks. With just the 2-infinity marks, it's really compressed.

On my Canon 28mm f/2.8 LTM, a full-length shot of an average height person in landscape orientation is about 10 feet away, and my finger is at a "standard" 6 o'clock position. It's a nice, comfortable position. Bringing it in to 5 o'clock focuses at 6 feet, which is a 3/4 length shot. Dead easy!

It'd take some practice to get used to 6 o'clock being a half-length shot instead of a full-length shot, but anything's possible.

Have the F and don't see any reason to upgrade at this time. It looks like the improvements are minimal.

I think I agree about the built in flash - it is undoubtedly just about worthless, but worst of all looks a bit "naff" as our Brit friends say..............I think I would put some tape over it and pretend I am hiding a Leica red dot.
