Fujifilm XF to M adapter - registration?

Has anyone gotten a copy of the official Fuji adapter where infinity=infinity? I was thinking about buying another one (my first one didn't thrill me for this reason), and I was hoping that they had fixed this register thing.

What about a Hawks adapter? I get perfect infinity plus the helicoid for close focus.
Do you want a Fuji one for the contacts?

The contacts would be great; my goal is actually for once to accurately record the metadata without punching through a bunch of menus. But I have taken a close look at the Hawks.

Ps. Forgot to mention compared to other third party adapters like fotodiox, which were farther off, I did not think I had thin enough shims around to adjust to perfect infinity.

Thanks for the insights - where are you finding shims?

After using mine for a longer period of time, I have noticed that mine is a hair off, somewhere around 1/32-1/64 is my guess. My novoflex is perfect at infinity.

My main comment would be that it does as advertised.
Tight fit to body side. Tight fit to lens side. The helicoid is smooth and snug enough to not slide around if you don't want it to move.

After next weekend I will sell my last really interesting M lens and then be set with only a 40mm CLE and Color Skopar 50mm f2.5 as well as a Canon 50mm f1.2.
These three lnese sre for film use in my opinion. I don't have a need to adapt them to Fuji.

My best adaptions to the Xpro 1 have been OM lenses as I prefer the longer end of photography. The OM 50mm f1.4 and OM 100mm f2.8 stand out especially.
I have a super cheapo Fotdiox adapter for OM that is tight on both mount sides as well. Surprisingly it also hits infinity although for Portraits who cares.

I don't think the Fuji's are that great for adapting lenses. The Fuji native lenses are simply better overall and... inexpensive by comparison to M mount.
For example Why use a Summilux 1.4/50mm or ZM C Sonnar 1.5/50mm when a XF56 f1.2 costs less and performs better plus includes really killer AF 🙂
I guess some folks have these lenses in M mount and wish to use them.
I did but now I'm selling them on to use the fuji offereings instead.

I used to use the official adapter from fujifilm but because it did not allow me to use my favourite lens (pre-asph 35 lux) it was useless to me. I bought a Hawk's adapter instead.
However tin my example of the adapter for the xe1, the infinity focus was off. I had heard a lot of good things about it however before purchasing, and i tested it with all m lenses to come up with this conclusion.

taking the Hawk's adapter apart I find it hard to shim it if I wanted to. I switched over to using PEN F lenses for the time being.

I forgot to check on this thread again.. Depending on how thin I need.. the ones for the third party that are way off.. Have been able to get from a local hw store that has brass sheets thin enough and in different thicknesses. U need to do some experimentation w/ shim thickness and focusing at infinity.

If u have access to a machine shot w/ a flattening roller, u can create various thickness uniform brass shims yourself.

The Fuji adapter was so close, I already new I did not gave a thin enough shim.

I just tried my Fuji M-adapter on distant trees - about a quilometre away - with my CV 50/1.1 and CV 90/3.5 both wide open on an X Pro-1. Both seemed sharp. Not surprisingly, in the bright light, the 50/1.1 showed significant flare, but the image itself was pretty sharp - just had a sort of glow around it. This lens had the shutter speed just about maxed out at 1/4000 (on the A setting) for most shots, and was thus a tad overexposed. I got this adapter the same time I got the camera, about a year ago. Don't use it though, hardly at all. 99%+ of the time I use the 18-55.
