Fujifilm XP1 P&S

Wrong camera... I'm talking about the XF1 (rumored to be XP1 at first):

I know the list of wants can go on and on and on but I do feel that this XF1 and the RX100 should have had a hotshoe for OVFs.
Too often I am confronted by harsh lighting and slide on onto my GRD IV.

I can't see how an OVF would have helped. These are cameras with zoom lenses ... covering everything from wide angle to medium telephoto ... Not sure how an OVF would help there.

The GRD IV has a fixed focal length lens.

Some of us will use a zoom compact at one fixed focal length. Especially if the zoom is brightest at the wide end and the light is low. Zoom with your feet. Some compacts could auto start at a fixed length also, so on power up it could zoom to 50mm equiv and then use a 50mm OVF. This of course won't work for a manual zoom like the XF1. I guess the hotshoe would have only added to the cost.

I think I prefer the X10 from a looks point of view. This new one looks like it would be awkward to hold- unless the covering is grippy.
