I just noticed that several folks here are looking to trade their Fuji X-whatevers for film RFs. What's the deal, I wonder -- can't believe that the Fujis don't measure up. Or is it another case of being briefly seduced by the new and shiny?

I think people buy things before they "know" what they need these things for. All these "gear migrations" we constantly see are born from a combination of desire and then, discovery of the lack of need. Selling and then buying something else also lacking need will not cure it. The Fuji is a great tool if one requires such. It's a crappy pacifier though if one does not....

It might be that many people buy one thinking that it's a more modern / easier to use rangefinder and then realise that it's really closer to a DSLR / mirrorless in terms of handling.

Photographers would need only SOFA, another funny named Leica accessory.

I think RF people like the step and challenge of focusing manually -- and Fuji has yet to make a camera that does this well. When the EVFs get better and when they add focus peaking to the EVFs, they might have a real shot at wooing Leica shooters. Until then, meh...
