It looks as if I will be waiting many, many years for Nikon to come out with a DX prime. With the exception of the 35mm f/1.8 DX, which is a great lens, I'm restricted to 18x** zooms. For those of you who shoot DX, what would you recommend for consideration of FX primes, since there is no DX stuff on the market?
Thanks to all who reply.

I use D7000 too, and I strongly prefer 35 f/2 AF-D for its lack of distortion compared to 35 1.8 DX. Awesome primes are 50 1.4 AF-S, and te 105 DC. Wide end wise, I use 18-70 cheap kit lens that is really sharp.

I like the Tamron 90mm macro. Works close up and for portrait. Also I use MF legacy primes on my d7000. And the 1.8g series are real good, too (28, 50 & 85) But for some reason 85 1.8g seem to be falling out of favor.
