Fun little lens!

I agree. This is my go-to lens for my IIIc. All of the shots below were probably in the f/2-2.8 range with the lens.

Agreed. I think I managed to do the same with a Volna-3 lens the other day. Howevee buying the adapters to mount it on my Nikon turned out to be more expensive than the lens. Ah well, I hope this lens turns out as good as the OP's Jupiter.

There are many roads to Rome, and even if the Romans tried hard to prove the opposite, none of them straight.
 
Here's a bit of trivia, the J8 is actually thicker than the faster 1.5 J3 (in aluminum barrel versions). The J3 fits into my Rubbermaid round food containers like my other tiny lens - Canon 28/2.8, CV 15, and 21s, but the J8 is just a bit too thick for the container.
 
The only missing lens from the FSU world is a tiny 35/2. If they have one, who needs a Summicron :)
