Fun with the Hasselblad 907x

You may as well sell the rest of your XCD lenses :)

I hope not! :D I have three others which are all delightful!

Working off my iPad and the Phocus mobile app, so the images may not be perfect at the moment…

Perfect or not, these two images are very appealing to my eye. :)

I've got another small set of photos made with the XCD 65mm to post, perhaps a little later this morning. Right now it's time for coffee and food...

Every once in a while, amidst all our fumblings and failures, we're granted a photograph that's perfect, or as close to that as we dare hope to come.
With "Silver Lake", I think you've made one of those. Beautiful!

Wow, super-appreciate your comment. Many thanks.

At the time (couple of days ago) we were just backroading here near our property in Canada and we drove along the shore of this lake. I asked my wife to stop the truck and I got out to take a totally different photo. When I climbed down to the water level I saw this shot instead - much better than the shot I had originally planned on taking. When I got back in the truck I said to my wife, “I think I’m going to make a print of that shot.” Hopefully it will look as good in print as I hope!

Vince, your backstory on "Silver Lake" certainly resonates; repeatedly, I've found that my best images are ones that I've made almost offhandedly, while concentrating on getting the "important" shot that, ironically, turns out to be a dud. Some kind of Zen thing, I guess, about turning off the striving mind?

Time for a little color. :) More walking photos...

Nice! A subtle and good improvment!

My 907x spend several hours yesterday doing copy camera duty, digitizing about a hundred Polaroid photos... It works brilliantly for this stuff, using the V system Makro-Planar 120mm and an extension tube, operated remotely with Phocus in wireless tether mode. :)

On a technical level, power use: I made about 250 exposures in all (many bracketings) on a battery that was at 90% when I started and finished at 19%. That's pretty decent power economy for what was essentially continuously on operation including WiFi connection! I operated it via an iPad Pro 11", and the only issue I ran into was that Phocus Mobile 2 sometimes takes a second or three to update on an exposure change (likely due somewhat to the 300ms readout time).

My high school English teacher would have had a fit if I had ever written "more perfect". Logically impossible. But "Silver Lake2" is more perfect!

Somewhere in my foggy brain I recall some document or other that mentions 'more perfect'....something about a union, maybe? Dunno, can't recall exactly. Might have been an onion.

Many thanks - I hope to make a print of it later this week and see how it looks on paper.

Here's another version of one of the photos above - has a bit more punch to it:
