I just got an Industar-61 from evilbay today, it's lovely and clean on the outside but there is a suspicious mark inside the lens. I've tried to get a pic of this but it's difficult without breaking out a proper camera and lighting. From the attached pics do you think I have got fungus?

Thanks for all and any help, the lens was dirt cheap so I'll probably try to clean it, any advice?

Definitely looks like a very healthy fungus growth you have there! I'd recommend vinegar to clean it off. If you are lucky, you may find it will clean leaving very little trace, though from the look of it there might possibly be some coating loss at the edge. Take out the glass and clean the metal-work as well to stop the fungus re-emerging.

Thanks for the advice, I thought so. I'm hoping that the lens is so simple that it'll be quite easy to take apart and clean. Will try to put an update on here when it's done.
Thanks again

For some reason I thought there was a thread in the FSU forum. You might do a search there and keep looking at older threads to see if you can find it, or the DIY forum. Failing that, try google, surely there have been some who have done that and explained it. Good luck. Let us know how it turns out.

Just yesterday a friend remarked that he read about an Indian Doctor who cleaned fungus off his slides with Tinaderm:eek: solution (tolnaftate).
Found it hard to believe but a quick google showed he was right.
If it works for Kodachromes, why not lenses?
