Funny seeing SLR sites trying the RF gig

I'm always amused when RF's are reviewed by magazines that are normally in the business of selling the latest dSLR to their readers. They just never seem to know what to say, and worse, the review doesn't make sense because it doesn't fit the standard "camera review" template that the mag uses. For instance Amateur Photographer's review of the Epson RD1s a few weeks ago claimed that the finder gave 88% coverage.

Just wait until the D40 comes before christmas ... I have a feeling Nikon is going to hit gold with it, since it will be a great camera but it will force people to upgrade if they want to experience the entire Nikon lens line (the D40 is rumored to not to use anything but AF-S lenses). Although if thats true its going to cut into the 50mm 1.8 sales (easily Nikons most popular lens for amateurs) as that is not an AF-S lens.

I had not read that about the D40? Didn't even know there was to be a D40.

You're sure right about that 50mm prime though. That and the 35 f2 on a DSLR are great lenses for us amateurs.

Aren't all AF-S Nikkors Zooms? It seems to be they are. CORRECTION: All but the 300mm Tele. It seems that all except one of the DX lenses are AF-S. This allows them to leave the focusing motor out of the body, saving weight and cost.
