Future Kodak film supplies

The following are exerpts from an August 2005 news item concerning Kodak:

“Kodak has laid off 13,000 workers since late 2003. Last week - as it reported a second-quarter loss of $146 million or 51 cents a share - it announced another 10,000 job cuts. ‘This is in response to worldwide decline in traditional photography,’ said Kodak spokesman David Lanzillo. "It's all part of Kodak's digital transformation strategy."

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Kodak had 54 film-processing labs around the country, but they're being pared to 11 in locations ranging from Hawaii, Canada, and Dallas, Texas, to Atlanta, Ga., and Hartford, Conn.

At the end of last year, Kodak had 54,800 employees, with 29,200 in the United States. A year earlier it employed 64,000.”
