FYI 56mm lens rumor update

I wonder if it is the ripple effect of the Sony rx1, Nikon Coolpix A, and Ricoh gr v. Keeping my fingers crossed the 27 will still make it out this year.

So at that focal length it would have the equivalent DOF of an 84 F/1.4 in 35 mm speak?

Sounds like its going to be a huge piece of glass... and expensive...
 
Well, as long as image quality is as good as what was expected with the f1.4, then fine. I'd personally prefer a little more length than speed, like a 60 or 65 f1.4. I just need an exceptional, reasonably fast portrait lens ASAP. And, I hope this doesn't make it too heavy and large. I'll be unhappy if if they have to bump up filter size over 58mm. Whatever it turns out to be, and whenever it arrives, I'll be ordering it. Money is sitting and waiting...
 
I'm okay with the Zeiss 50 MP - Fuji's lenses have an interesting color palette for skin tones and I am curious what Zeiss has to offer here.
 
I fear f1.2 will be too big - compact-ness was the key factor when i chose this system :(

I would not mind a f1.8 lens, or even 2.0.
 
I'm pretty X-cited for the 56! I'm not so worried about the size of a 1.2. It's a fairly specific focal length (for me) and used as such. The most of the time the 18mm or 35mm is mounted. I could use a big gun up my sleeve or in the bag.
