FYI Domke Bags in Canada

Ok, stop it now because i recently bought a Tenba bag for $150 and there is no way I'm going to buy a Domke! :bang:

... And I raise my fist in frustration at Nikon Bob for posting this.

Damn... those prices are very good compared to Vistek and their "special order crap".

Head to Ebay..
http://myworld.ebay.ca/photococan/

That seller is based in Montreal - prices are very reasonable and their feedback is great. I've bought 1 of my Domke bags from them along with extra inserts.

Anyone with an F-6 care to share their experience?

/I know this is an old thread but this morning I had a Domke attack after feeling let down with my camera bag and working in a crowded event.

Thanks, the prices on their website and ebay shop are the same but they have the free shipping option for ebay buyers. I did not see a F-6 on their ebay page though.

The F-6 (I think) shows up now and then - their Ebay stuff isn't always the same stuff over and over - so keep checking on them 🙂

Cheers

Well, I pulled the plug on a F-6 that she had in stock and after the web transaction did not work I called her and she was great doing the transaction.

I got the F-6 ballistic black. 😎

i have a couple of the canvas f6 bags and i think they are great. good depth for smaller rf lenses, plenty of room for 2 cameras and maybe 6 lenses without breaking a sweat. i use it if i carry a full kit. easy in and out for gear, no velcro but 2 strong metal clips.
and an outside pocket for extras or film.

Well, the transaction was not as smooth as it seemed at first.

She did take my order (cc number) on the phone but later on in the afternoon she e-mailed that they don't have it in stock and it will arrive in the end of next week... I had asked for the ballistic version so I mentioned if they have the canvas one, she replied that they have only the sand... I said I'll take the sand... I was annoyed because she should have told me in the phone and she should have mentioned it in her website that the bag was out of stock.

Anyway, I got the sand version but I know if did not like it I will sell it immediately.

Anyway, if you're in a hurry find out from from photoco before hand if they have the item you want in stock before ordering it.

she has stock in both canada and the u.s., if they don't have it here they ship to themselves from the states and then to you the customer. it saves the buyer some cash and customs hassle, but it takes some extra time.
happened to me once and i have bought 4 or so bags from them.

Purchased a 5xb from this dealer. Fast shipping, highly recommended.
Th bag is very nice and has room enough for my Canon P plus 2 lenses and light meter or 2 cameras with lenses attached. Best bag I ever had!

i bought a A$49 CARIBEE black school backpack with three padded compartments from Aussie K-Mart. i keep some combination of an RD1s, a Bessa, a Fuji GW690 and a Leica IIIa in it, a couple of lenses in the side pouches, a spare jumper (sweater), a towel, a swiss army knife, a sandwich or two, bottle of water and a few rolls of film. never looked back and i don't draw any attention on the street or in the bush. i have had camera bags but they often say "steal me" by their shape. for storage or travel, on the other hand, i use pelican cases. but i have to admit i have suffered from BAS, as well, and have a lot of over the shoulder single cam bags, my favorite from the Aussie Kathmandu hiking stores.

I highly recommend photococan as well. I've bought Crumpler bags, Newswear belt pouches, Lowepro straps, Lumiquest flash diffusers, Zing lens bags and even bulk rolls of Tri-X from them. Their prices are very good, they ship fast and they handle returns very quickly.
