"We're looking at around April to May availability for the 55-200mm, as well as the 27mm pancake. For the 10-24mm and 23mm f/1.4, more towards the end of the year or the beginning of 2014. Anywhere in that area"
Quote from interview. This is the first time I can remember that anyone locked down AA approx date in early 2013 for the 27

that 10-24 might drive me over the edge and force me to buy into this system!

I find it strange that the 35mm prime is its best selling lens, but they are still going to push out a 55-200 before the 23mm 1.4.

The 10-24 and the 55-200 could be to help attract the dslr user.

Really?
I'm sure they have their eye on the Canikon kit buyers. Those soccer moms and other folks who are content with a short-mid and mid-long zoom to cover everything.
Makes the most sense from a sales perspective. I bet there are many hold outs in that segment waiting for that second zoom before changing to the "new" Fuji system. Imagine for a sec how many 2 lens+DSLR units Nikon is selling in Costco stores right now. That's bread and butter baby!

The three zoom cover a great range 15-300 equiv focal lengths. The only zoom missing is the so called travell/do it all
- 16 to 60ish
- 18-200 (kind of doubt Fuji will ever do this one)
Then u basically have all the main dslr related zooms in your lineup

The pancake sounds killer. Perfect do it all lens. Will make the XE-1 look like a point and shoot. 23 F1.4 will be the drool lens in this kit along with the 56 F1.4 when it comes out.

Why would a soccer mom by the Fuji for twice as much as a DSLR when they, generally, think DSLRs are "more professional?" I wouldn't give Soccer moms too much credit with regard to taste. I work in a very mainstream environment and I can tell you that many soccer moms just go to best buy and buy the cheapest deal they can get i.e. Canon Rebel or Nikon D3X00/5X00.

Well, the proof is in the fact that the 35mm is outselling the zoom (from the interview). These are not mainstream cameras...they will not be in cost co.
