I found this on Serious compacts today.. Note Ray was lucky enough to be sent both the Nikon Coolpix A and Sony Rx1 for eval awhile ago. He owns the Fuji xp1 and Ricoh GXR.

An interesting comment was that it appears that the Fuji xp1 iso is inflated. When he compared all the cameras at 3200 or 6400 iso, the exposure info on the Fuji always ended up the one that was one stop less then the ones used by the other cameras (it's 6400 exposure was same as the other cameras 3200 iso one).

Some nice shots and comments about work around for exposure compensation w/ auto iso by using a special function for ec instead.

Talked a bit about how good the rx1 was but kept it mainly to the Coolpix..

Given how pocketable the Nikon is, they may have come up w/ a winner.

I like your shots Gary. I fooled around with the coolpix at Best Buy for a couple of minutes. The af seemed fine but not lightening. More like the X2. How did you feel the af worked in lowlight? I just got the X100s and it is definitely much better than the X100 but am jonesing for both the coolpix A for briefcase and of course the RX1. Not sure where I will land but thanks for the review. Please don't post the RX1 images:)

I wish these were mine.. But at last these are Ray's. he is a great guy. I am afraid I cannot help w/ these questions. Ray is good at answering question about anything over at www.seriouscompacts.com.

28 is not my preferred fov. If this was a 40 pancake, I think I would be all over it. It will be interesting to c how Nikon does in this market.

I'm really interested in obtaining one of these. However, I can't do it until the price drops below $800 (even used).
