FYI - Nikon 750 weird flare related problem being reported

At least D600 owners did get some satisfaction, those who bought D800 with oil splatter problems (mine included) never got anything but have to live with frequent sensor cleaning.
I have bought Nikon cameras for more than 40 years but would not recommend anyone to buy a Nikon until they prove to have some kind of QC in place.

Nikon USA has released a statement regarding the sudden disappearance of its D750 DSLR from US retailers. Just last week the company offered to repair D750's that have flare issues caused by the position of their AF sensors. The statement reads 'Nikon is working with retailers to replenish stock with cameras to which measures to address this issue have been applied. In late January, Nikon will announce details to service cameras from users, free of charge.'

A heard about the problem and did the sensible thing and went out and bought one anyway. Mine's not affected and it's a great camera. Of course I had to get a Voigtlander to put on it 🙂

There are rumours of a recall but what is actually going to happen is Nikon will repair/fix the issue. Stock being removed from shelves will most likely either go back to Japan or be tweaked at the local Nikon repair centre.

The D750 is still an excellent camera.

I've got the 750 and in the range that Nikon is calling 'affected.' So I guess some day I'll have to send it in, but will wait for others to report their experience.

In the meantime - well, let's just say that this is not something I expect to run into, and I haven't seen. From every report I've seen, I'd really have to go out of my way to make this happen.

Don't regret making the purchase at all.
