FYI - rumor about Sony rx1 and rx100 next gen

maybe the "R" is for inte(R)changeable or viewfinde(R) ;)
seriously though as much as i hate to hear whiners when something new comes out a bit too soon, it does stink for those users if this is true

Hot shoe! Built in Wifi! Nothing stopping this from becoming a decent product camera....

I'm constantly tempted by the RX100, so I'm curious as to what the upgrade will be like.

not bothered about a tilting screen, I've never used one, and never felt the need for one, and they usually add quite a bit of size. Couldn't care less about wifi, but if they have a slightly faster lens at the long end I'll be very tempted.

If not, I'll be very interested in the effect on the price of used RX100s

i had a tilting screen on one of the panasonics i had and it was great...very handy for all kinds of shooting!

i love the rx100...image quality is fantastic and it's so small!!

They're saying no AA filter for the Rx1r.
While they're at it, why don't they remove the color filter as well, maybe on a limited run.
As amazing as the rx1 appears to be, going full B&W would be seen as an aggressive move. Sony should strike while the camera is hot.

Tilt Screen = already an X Vario killer.

More interested in the RX1R. if they stick an even faster lens on it, I will be torn. Sony and Fuji are really doing a number these days on poor Leica.

:D:D:D

So what´s about the extra R in the FF sony alternative???

As DougFord said in the earlier post, the only real diff the rumor sights are reporting on the rx1r is the removal of the AA filter. So why did they not do t day one, like Nikon did w/ the d800 and d800e?

I bet they they were haut waiting for some proof of acceptance by the market before proceeding with a variant.
