http://www.fujirumors.com/x20-discontinued-bh-x30-sensor-bigger-1-way/
- Well according to this rumor b&h shows x20 discontinued.
- new xtran sensor is going to be bigger than 1 inch
- could be a summer announce
I forgot.. Is there a sensor size already between 1 inch and m43? I wonder how true this rumor is?
Given that the x20 is not that much smaller than the x100 family, I wonder if they are keeping it the same size or going bigger? Any bigger, then we are probably talking Panasonic gx7 territory.

I hope they go smaller...

Problem is overall lens dimensions end up bigger as the sensor size increases. It would be nice if they made the next one smaller.

I get what you mean... but Sony has show smaller cameras can be made with larger sensors. It makes no sense to go larger than a 1" sensor if it is going to be as large as an X100s... with the only advantage (or disadvantage) being a telescopic lens.

Well-known
a bigger sensor would be great...but for that they need a bigger lens too...and the package isn´t particulary small...
They must act because the rx100 III will break all the ground around...

The xq1 has been their smallest p&s that was targeted somewhere between an Panasonic lx7 and the rx100. The biggest problem w/ shrinking is keeping an acceptable ovf size I think otherwise it gets a bit squinty or u need to go to a pure evf style design (my guess to why it has to be the current size). The next gen xq1 could end up w/ a built in evf though.. Since the x20 and xq1 use the same size xtran sensor, if the x30 goes bigger, the next gen for xq1 could end up w/ the same size sensor (who knows). We could c the next gen xq1 be more targeted against the new rx100 rather than the x30.
I would love to c them follow Sony w/ a 24-70f1.8-2.8 collapsing zoom.
