Looks like mainly to support the 16-50 zoom and the other e entry release lenses. There are bug fixes but dpreview has no details.

Just updated my Nex 5n and the AF speed has improved considerably with my favourite lens, Sigma 30mm 2.8...thanks Sony

16-50 on NEX 7 now shows corrected view in VF and LCD and retracts immediately on power-off.
Not sure of other improvements (haven't shot with it yet, just flashed), but other than the uncorrected live view and slow retract of the 16-50 (image capture was already corrected) I have no complaints with NEX7 or the new 16-50 (bought mine on eBay from a NEX6 owner).
