I never liked Sony because their hardware cycle is too fast. I agree with the above poster that software updates would be much more preferred.

I REALLY like this. The pop up viewfinder is genius, the sensor is big enough for the size, and the lens looks excellent. I might just buy one of these.

Even without a lens the Nikon is larger in height, width and weight!
When I think of having a small camera with me, I'm not thinking about whether it fits in my pants pocket. I'm thinking about whether its inconspicuous. The V3 without EVF fills that bill nicely.

For years I have been waiting for a pocket camera that ticks all the boxes. This may finally be it.
The EVF should be good enough for this class of cameras. Sadly, the external EVF that is shared between Mark 2 and RX1/R cannot be used for added flexibility. Same goes for an OVF. This is an obvious design choice in this camera class given the integrated EVF and priority of providing a flash, but it would have been a nice touch anyway.
Once the price drops (in 2015?), I will likely get one.

Anyone using one of the Rx100iii yet. That pop up viewfinder sure is an interesting addition.
