Please correct me if I remembered incorrectly... One of the surprising news lately is the web reports about the nex6 which has both phase and contrast detection and now this from the camera store that the af speed is somewhat slower than the predecessor. In the case of the Nex 6 I would assume the nex7 or 5n which were contrast only. In the case of the rx1, no real predecessor outside of the rx100.. Since I have both an rx100 and the Fuji x100, the surprising comment from the camera store video was the comment about the rx1 being slower than the Fuji x100... My rx100 is slightly faster than the x100. Hopefully this is just a fw algo fix... On the other hand, from the Fuji x100s video, their implementation of phase detection and contrast af really appears to have improved the focusing speed of the camera... But in all cases.... Only time will tell the complete story with these three cameras.

I'm pretty satisfied with my RX100.
The only thing it won't really do as well as the RX1 on an everyday basis is the traditional bokeh portrait. To balance that, the RX100 has a nice zoom range and is very sharp.
Except for that portrait limitation, it's getting difficult to justify bringing a different camera for travel/city/walkabout shots...the RX100 is surprisingly good.
