Well, I hope you are right Gary and the pancake ends up being cheap. So far, nothing Fuji has made has been under $600. I know historically pancakes are cheap though...
Given that it is a f2.8, I think that it will be cheaper than the anything in the current lens line. But I also believe that like anything that is part of a kit, the combined kit price vs buying body and lens separate may bring the 27 down lower, just as the 18-55 standalone vs xe1 kit was sold.
As I said earlier, the rumored 550 price point for a kit, it will be interesting to c if that's what it will, end up.. Personally, I want that 27 period. This is my preferred focal length. If it ends up 600, I would still buy it. Half of that price I am in hog heaven
I was basically extrapolating based on the rumored 550 price and the discount on the 18-55 when it is part of a kit.
But let's look at it slightly differently.. The current b&h price on low end Nikon dslr 3100 kit is under 600 w/ the 18-55 nikor zoom. So lets say worst case, xm1 ends up 700 instead of rumored 550. The body I would suspect is going to be somewhere in the 400 range. So that is why I think the 27 is going to be the cheapest lens in the Fuji line up..
Anyway only time will tell and it is fun to speculate.
