G.A.S. relief thread

Well, I've come to terms with the fact that no matter how hard I try, I'll always enjoy and desire gear. That being the case, I am curious to see what other people are pining for; perhaps it's a small thing like an old XA, perhaps a 12x20 view camera, perhaps a (gasp!) new fancy DSLR.

As a side benefit of releiving your G.A.S. pressure, perhaps people reading this thread might have an item or two that you're interested in as well. 😉

Things I currently desire:

Olympus OM3/4 SLR. The multi-spot metering system looks cool as hell, they have a lot of nice lenses available, and they're gorgeous cameras.

Olympus XA2. Lovely little compact thing. Miss my XA.

A nice TLR. Minolta Autocord might be ideal, though Yashicas are nice too.

A Flexaret VI/VII just to sit and look at, I love how they're designed.

A cool half frame camera. I will be doing my own darkroom work so no worries about labs getting confused.

Voigtlander Vitessa L OR a Zeiss Contessa. They seem so over-engineered and are just stunning.

A good 4x5 rig. I had a Super Graphic in good condition but foolishly sold it back in the late 90s.

(I just picked up an SRT101 for a bargain price so won't be buying anything else for a while though!)

I purchased the D200 earlier this year and while it's been fun, it's no substitute for real RF gear....I recently cancelled a tranasction for a Rollei TLR and am now in the throes of extremely painful GAS....have my eye on many sweet items now.....oh well....I'll just keep taking pictures I guess.....

My current wants:

M-hexanon lenses--the examples on Flickr are awesome!!!
50 lux pre asph--Black is beautiful!!!
MF---still out on camera type...the used hassy outfits are very cheap these days---and appear very functional
A summaron???? they tend to be way overpriced now...but so small and sexy!! I doubt it....maybe in a trade deal....

Yeah, it's amazing how the Hassy gear has dropped. I was looking at the 500/503 bodies and they've gotten downright CHEAP. The glass is still up there though...

I'm seeing full kits...i.e., 503CW, finder, A12 back and 80/2.8 w/ *T coating for $5-600.00 One of those would make a great toy for my upcoming B&W class. One of the tele Sonnars would be awesome. I't just that there's so much great M gear available now....I wanna get while the getiin's good

Mind you, I wouldn't say no to an old-fashioned magnesium powder flashtray. 😉

what i want from christmas:
leica m3 or m7 with noctilux lens, hassy 503 with 80mm lens, rollei with planar lens and a nikon d200 for all my ais glass. yep, thats what i want for christmas. i think that will cure my gas for a month or so. 🙂
