G2 Focus Meter

My G2 is a second hand in good condition.

When it focuses, it does it very quickly. However, when I look at the metre display on the top and check against the measure between the subject and my camera, there is descrepancy, which increases as the distance of the subject increases. When the subject is about 9 feet away, it display 9.2 feet; when the subject is 16 feet away, it display 17 feet.

I have a G1, which display exactly what the real distance is.

I haven't test the actual sharpness of the picture, to see if the focus is off.

I have a G1 myself, I've had a little trouble with the Auto distance when I first started using it. And I've found doing it manually does a better job.

But anyways, shoot a roll of film through it! Only way to find out!

I read that from time to time. Luckyly my G2 is acurate on distances up to 6 feet compared to my measuring tape. At bigger distances it is within what I can read from my Contax SLR lenses

I don't mind it if it is just displaying the number off, as long as the actual focusing is correct.

What do you hear about from others in this matter???
