I use rubber eyecup-equipped SLRs for most of my picture-taking fun. Almost every time I grab my Contax G2, I end up poking my left eye with the viewfinder. It takes a few frames and some Visine to get me to instinctively remember to rest the camera on my nose.

It occurred to me that perhaps someone has produced an after-market rubber eyecup for the G2 - it would be an eyeball saver for me. Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I wonder if you allow yourself to get poked enough times, whether you'll experience a variation of pavlov's dogs :D You touch the G2 and instinctively your eye starts to water.

Pffft, Isaac Newton used to push his finger into his eye socket and observe the colors when he'd push on the orbit and he never went blind (kids: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME).

Very simple. Since the G2 viewfinder FOV is 1/4 the area of an SLR view, your brain says you are obviously too far awy from it, press the camera closer.

When you get the black G back set up, it will add enough thickness to the camera to protect your eye. :)

Bill, that is as clever as it is minimalistic, I love it. Now if I can only win that databack...
