Well,

Yesterday I bit on Ebay. Changing curtain doesn't work, but I should be able to fix it. I haven't shot a Fuji, so we'll see.

I used to have a Pentax 6x7: alot of mirror and shutter slap though.

Very cool indeed. I had one (sold it already) and it was truly excellent. The standard 100mm lens is remarkable. It's called a 'Texas Leica' for good reason. If you do your own processing and printing you'll be able to get results that blow away 35mm.

Have fun!/ScottGee1

Good choice!
You'll find yourself using shutter speeds unimaginable for a medium format SLR.
Also, you won't actually need the curtain until the day you get a second lens.
Enjoy it!

Congratulations,

I trust you'll enjoy this gadget.
However I doubt you can fix the curtain. if this seller (fotofila) could not do it I guess only an experienced professional can do so. So let this minor issue not disappoint you.
Doesn't matter at all. I did change lenses only once or twice within one roll of film although I have all the lenses. I rather go out with the intention to do one single lens at a time;-)

You only get 8-16 shots per roll right? You could go through a lot of 120 rolls without feeling the need to change in the middle.

Seeing.

Seeing.

I mostly see about 35mm view, but can adapt to any view. Though I will still complain "if only I had the wide angle" :)

As to film usage: 8 exposures per roll on 120 is alot cheaper than 4x5. I shoot 35mm and digital also.

There are times for massive shooting: sports is an example, or waiting for the right cloud formation, or wave crashing over a rock. Most of the time, we shoot too much because of a lack of vision!!!! We sort through piles of photos, and realize there is nothing worth sharing.

G690 arrived same time as Honey Do's.

Well the camera was here when I came home from my week on the platform. Honey Do's have prevented me from shooting with it yet.

You know all those fitness clubs: feel the burn, work it baby-work it. Forget the clubs. I think toting the Fuji will build me, or break me.

I'm going to try some Fuji Neopan 400 on Monday, can't wait.
