GA645 seem to crinkle film on rewind

Dear all;

On two of the three rolls of Kodak bw400cn 120 that I ran through my Gw645, the film seem to crinkle or bind on rewind damaging some parts of the negative. I just ran a roll of 220 through, and although not developed yet, I listened very close on the rewind, and something did not sound the same as before, and I now fear for my photos.

So two questions:

Does anyone have experience with this?

If it does need repair, where should I look?

120/220 film does and can not rewind. So please describe more accurately what is going on...

The 120/220 film goes from one side of the camera to the other.

Then it stops.

There is no rewind.

Fair enough, when I reach the end of a roll, there must be some kind of a tail on the left hand side spool, that film must then be advanced ( not rewound ) onto the right hand side spool. When that happens, I get an odd sounding noise. As there is no rewind, the resulting damage to the exposed film could be happening from advancing to the next frame, but I'm not hearing any odd sound in the normal frame advance sequence.

I have not noticed any difference in the "feel" of the film when loading or unloading ... nor do there appear to be any light leaks at the edges of the film.

I have shot probably 60 rolls or so, and this is a new issue.

I've been using the same lab, and the same person is in the lab, so while possible, I think there are other places to look.

The 120 film is from a batch that has not shown this behavior previously.

Huh?

You might be hearing the film "crinkle" a little when it reaches the end of the roll and goes onto the other spool.

How did you come up with the "rewind" idea?

Scan some negatives and/or prints and post them here so we can see what's been going on. And perhaps explain it.

Do you adjust the pressure plate to the correct setting for 120/220 prior to loading whatever film you use?

as well, when you load the film, make sure that it isn't tilted.

Dear all;

Went back to negatives, the issue is not in the film, but the lab where I have them developed/scanned. I cannot find any issues with the negatives by the eye, and will rescan and post a few when I get some time.
