Gaffer Tape and Strap Lug Protectors

Hi all,

Just a heads up to all with Leica M cameras that have strap lug plastic protectors. I think this started from the early Leica M6s. I had one of the protectors fall off from my M6 so I gaffer taped both sides. When I took out the gaffer tapes last week, the othe remaining protector came out as well. Now I am not sure what to do to put it back on! Super glue? Dont think I should. So the moral of the story is, dont gaffer tape your Ms 😛

Strap lug protectors can be replaced. I had mine replaced when I had my M6 CLA'd.

Thanks. Its good that it can be easily replaced. Just wanted to advise others so that they do not have to go through the hassle and spent the money to have it replaced.
