Gakken TLR

To revive the thread a little, I got a gakkenflex a little while ago from here, which is pretty much the cheapest I could find. Even including P&P from Japan it was still way cheaper than anywhere else I'd seem them.

The first time I took it out the weather turned a bit drab, and the results were only middling. A few weeks ago I took it out on a sunny day, loaded it with a roll of Kodak Ektar 100, and got some nice shots.

It's an acquired taste, sure, but there's a lot about these shots I like.
Assembly is pretty easy as the diagrams are very easy to follow. The only tricky bit was the shutter assembly but you can find many pages on the web for help with that. test it before you add the rest of the bodywork. The tape that sticks the mirror in place was a bit fiddly too. Maybe having longer fingernails would have helped!

And unlike the Blackbird Fly, it has an actual focusing mechanism that works! (provided you assemble it correctly!)

The magazine looks like it would be really interesting if I could read Japanese!
