This 2005 gem from Graksi popped up in the Random Images for me today.

I really like this 2007 post from myakish123 too.

Swann has posted many shots that could be considered as 'classics' of the gallery.

Indeed. I did not mean to imply that I'd found it by mistake!

When I first saw this photo I immediately wrote to Raid and he graciously sent me a larger file and gave me permission to print it. I have it to this day on my desk and treasure it every day.

Leica M2fan,
Really? It's an okay shot, but it's kind of empty... well, to each their own.

I think repeating columns, arches, or cominations of the same going back into the background are a favorite of many. I have seen many photos of that type which I enjoyed. The one above is nice, if a little light, at least on my monitor here at work.

The rpeating pattern of light & shadow on the ground are what caught my eye. It seems a bit light but I like the etherialness of it.

I do admit that raid's column shot is better than anything I have done of that sort of subject..

Yes, great idea for a thread Ralph. I think one of the best eyes in the gallery belongs to graksi and while many of his earlier classics are no longer there this image provoked an enormous response, both emotional and otherwise from members. It is unforgettable.
