Wow, thank you Ray. That's a real honour to be selected.
...
Great week in the gallery everyone!

Thank you for the great uploads and especially for posting your picks, Rafael! That's how we keep this thing going! 🙂

🙂

thanks for the mention again this week. more pictures to come...

this is my first gallery pick and i chose eddie con's "life and death" series:

anguish and sorrow
life and death
my cousins grieving

you really have to look at these images carefully to fully appreciate them. they are not pretty pictures. there's no decisive moment. this is just raw documentary photography that touches on a very delicate subject. in "anguish and death", eddie got ridiculously close to those grieving women. i tried to see myself taking that same picture and i know i would be shaking just trying to depress the shutter.

you did an excellent job in connecting with your subjects and got very emotional and candid shots of a horrible tragedy...my condolences.

there were many other great images this week but these photographs are beyond composition. these photographs are human..

Five from me:

Thelovecollect - Girl
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43475
For me, just a perfect street portrait: it succeeds on every level, emotional, aesthetic, technical... I love it.

Raid Amin - September 5, 2006
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43407
Innocence, Profundity, Goodness.

Thelovecollect - French Teenagers
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43541&cpage=2#poststart
Because it looks like a memory we would all like to have. A rich, strangely timeless and instantly nostalgic image.

Bertram2 - Happy Mother
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43565
Her face.

Rpinchbeck - Birthday Present
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43702
A reminder of what FSUs can do...

Thankyou! Ian

Gabriel's untitled image gets my Pick of the week.
::choke:: wow. Thanks, Ray, and Rafael. Don't know what to say. 😱

That was the last roll I ever shot with my 50 'cron. OK, that does it, I think I'm going to rescue it...but I don't have the funds (yet) I need to start selling prints, man!

Thank you, it made my day; I've been rather down lately. 🙂

thanks to gabriel i just spent $100 buying a bunch of Kodachrome 64.
lol - That's why I held off for so long. I had that roll for quite a while. Bought two more after that. In the fridge. I'll wait a little longer to get some more. It is a wonderful film; no room for error, though!

guys, thanks for the nod!

been busy with schoolwork this week but I managed to tag a couple in my favorites:

RayPa's: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/data/500/street0772_adj1.jpg , great eye!

nico's: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/data/500/street0772_adj1.jpg another keen eye for composition.

Marc-A: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/data/6305/medium/Violin.jpg , I love how he handled his summitar in this one.

BudGreens: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/data/500/4506.jpg

Favorite of the week, well... one of +cweaks clones mentioned that yours truly seems to like shooting "dead sh*t", yup, guilty as charged 🙂. so this week I found a really talented "dead sh*t" shooter like myself in the form of tetrisattack's: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/data/500/split_toned_fuel_cap.jpg

I really like the composition and the toning of his print, I hope one day to escape the digi-realm of scanning and inkjeting and get my fingers wet in the dark again.

thanks again,
Todd

Oh my! Thank you Nico and Todd.
Todd, let me add that for me you're the master of the Summitar, I mean it ... so I appreciate your compliment.
(Tuna is the master of the Elmar LTM).
Thanks again. Merci beaucoup.
Marc

Thanks for "Airport". 7 days prior to 9/11... was it a sign?
I don't post enough pics, lack of time, but reach more or less daily this community full of talents.
