OK. I guess I'll start this thread for this week.

There were some really really good images all week long. Here is my list of favorites:

myakish123's The Girl Smokes. A very nice moment caught and a fascinating stream of smoke.

VictorM's Preacher3 Great street corner action.

Nico's The Promise Sleeping beauty in the deep warm tones of b&w

Jan Normadale's Tronto CBD roof top of parkade wonderful urban landscape/abstraction

kbg32's Church Doors Gets my Pick of the Week Keith gives us the ultimate in visual rhythm

foolproof's Manaquin Reflections I like reflections and this one just works for me

Mykashi123's The Central Composition Feels like a classic RF shot.

Graski's Big Head Clever composition...excellent

Memphis' Sun Studios A beautiful color night shot of a US music shrine

ray_g's Self Portrait The power of black and careful compostiion.

Bud Green's After the Beach A great image to end the summer!

Great work in the gallery again this past week. Visit and post your picks.

Some from me...

Jan Normandale, Toronto Water Works -
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42744
Extraordinary, abstract beauty, wonderfully observed

Eddie Con, Cousins Coping with the Heat
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=43097
A delicious, hugely engaging portrayal of two very different characters.

Samdj1203, End of the Wreck
Breathtaking colour and composition.
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42922

Mal, Ride 'em
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42656
This IS the british seaside!

KEH, Busanga Plains
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42900&cpage=2
Atmospheric Turneresque landscape

Thelovecollect, Bastille Day, NYC 2006
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42596
As mal has already noted, this is uncannily like a Norman Rockwell composition: a warm, contemporary yet classic shot, as full of stories as the Saturday Evening Post. For me the best sort of street photography.

LazyHammock, Petrified Forrest -
http://www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=42609&cpage=2#poststart
Pure painting with light.

Thankyou! Ian

Okay i'm going to need a lesson to figure out how to make links like Ray. In the meantime here they are. Eighteen of them. I said I was going to bypass the regulars for fresh faces. This week a couple of outstanding shots from the former group had to be included.

I also held back on including about another 10 shots. They deserved it but space and viewer fatigue are real considerations in these listings

Ok, here are my top picks that were posted Monday 8/28 to Sunday 9/3:

(It was a really good week - so many good ones to pick from...)

Krasnaya_Zvezda's "looks like something from Kevin Collier"

pesphoto's "cover"

gabrielma's "MT -IV"

telenous' "September"

tom_f77's "more fun with mirrors"

f/stopblues' "Relay for life"

thelovecollect's "scala banana"

thelovecollect's "gazebo"

KEH's "Busanga Plains"

graksi's "Big head"

ray_g's "tracks"
Which is my "pick of the week"

thelovecollect's "ai"
(My third pick by thelovecollect this week...some really strong photos this week!)

MelanieC's "the family"

nksyoon's "Monica"

smudge's "Mumbai Market"

jan normandale's "Toronto Power Company: Niagara Falls Canada"

olmanwompa's "Warehouse"

thelovecollect's "Boys eating" (I swear I didn't mean to pick FOUR by thelovecollect...I pick the photos and THEN I see who posted them).

myakish123's "Bithday"

These threads are great; I've been in the gallery all week collecting eclectic favourites, I've just added one after a quick look at others picks...

Here are mine:

lovecollect's Plant box - I liked all your coloured squares this week. This kind of shot fascinates me and I wish I could do it, but somehow never seem to try...

Ray's Doorway plant - ditto.

Jan's Toronto roof parking - and again.

dadsm3's no girls alowd - Love Larson, love this.

mal's ride 'em - contained madness.

jaapv's magic forest - when I look at the thumbnail I'm not bothered, but big it's beautiful.

Graksi's Big head - Funny. The hero changes his duvet cover.

Nick Meertens' Paris - this one I somehow missed, but had to add it when I saw the selections above. Profoundly surreal, or is it super-real?

Ray, Ian, Rich and Tom filled in some of the ones I liked but didn't include. This week was very strong and some contributors from previous weeks continued to put out great shots.

This thing is starting to "cook" and I'm likin' it a lot!

re my shots: thanks for the "mentions"

Agreed. Definitely, the variety attests to what a great week it was in the RFF gallery.

Not to repeat this endlessly - but it really was a great week.
It would had been easy to pick 10, 20 or 30 more great shots.

Makes you wonder what will end up in the galleries this week 🙂

I agree with Jan and Ray, a lot of good stuff in the gallery ... very hard to choose and very happy and thankful for the mention of my shot! 🙂

Thank you Jocko, jan normandale, tom_f77 and nico, and Rich Silfver for letting me know! I'm very flattered to be included in your lists. I started to make my own but two hours later I only had four! Call me indecisive?

Don't feel bad; I think the original idea was to pick 5... We're all just a bit over excited I guess 🙂

Tom

Ray, Thanks so much for voting me pick of the week, and to your mention as well Jan. I really need to find the time t this myself. There is so much wonderful imagery being posted in the gellery.

Thanks, Rich, for mentioning one of my shots, I really appreciate it.

Here are my five for the week:Beniliam (image 0048) -the old man, mal (shelter), dadsm3 (steph), rayg (self portrait), ionx69 (no name). Not in any particular order, just how I came upon them during the week. I compiled my list saturady night, so sorry if I missed someone. My wife's pick from what she saw was thelovecollect (ai), which was a freat portrait, she kept making me go back to that one. Great shots everyone. It is always a trip through time and space in our gallery.
