Gallery picks for the week ending 10th January 2011

bingley
guarding his tire... so simple, but so nicely rendered.

elmer 3.5
from his description:
As i looked this scene my first feeling was to be in a Cathedral...

The parking man eats a sandwich as he looks the resting machine and it´s work...is he impressed? is he sorry about the mess?

elmer is right. this shot would be nothing without the gentleman in the foreground. as he has composed it, it does have a sense of reverence from something in the process of being lost.

Paul, you are going to have make many more images before you make one as good as this one. really great on a lot of levels, not least of which is the look on zella's face.

thanks to the folks kind enough to include me here this week. flattered beyond words when I see how good so much of the work from others is in the gallery each week. I could post about a hundred images from all of you to this thread each time.

Thanks hteasley, snausages and Robklurfield.

I always find this thread to be inspiring, but I like so much of the work that I give up when trying to narrow things down to post.

I really wish there could be another format for this weekly thread. What I mean is that I wish that once a photo was suggested, that others simply comment on the suggestion. This would mean a weekly gallery rather than a thread. I say this because the multiple copies of photos within this weekly thread makes this thread a bit difficult to get through and the comments are often informative, but buried within the often repeated images.

Thank you Petronius and Greyscale for mentioning my 'digital classic' picture!

I apologize for not having participated in selecting pictures this time - I'm having a very busy week.
