gho: very well balanced photo with the additional effect of the train´s reflection, that lets the mirror look like a window.

Frank Petronio - Transformation

I don't go bundle on Frank's stuff. I find it a bit exploitative - but I'm an old stuffed shirt. There's something tragic about this diptych which elevates it above the sleaze...

a rather ominous rope with no explanation from Crazy Fedya

a brilliantly framed composition from Tuna. I love the texture of the building and the way the windows split the frame in half, totally contrary to everything we ever taught -- rule of thirds nicely turned inside-out.

wonderful light from Petronius

an amazing series from Walter Leporati from Corona, Queens, NY in the 1970's. he's captured and bottled for us a lost time with his bocci bowlers.

there wasn't a bad one in the series, but these few were my favorites...

the parallel leaning here was a terrific bit of timing

and a great stretch here...

everything hangs in the balance here, as Keith's subject ponders the sculpture. we can only wonder "wtf" (Keith's title) this kid is thinking with has face hidden beneath that hat. and where exactly does that door lead?

Paulfish's homage to Mark Rothko

some interesting American iconography in this shot of a Baltimore alleyway from ticastl. the sneakers strung over the all-roads lead to Rome wires are an interesting punctuation point in the composition. the fenced-in back yard on the left reminds me of the title sequence with the snarling dog from Barry Levinson's proto-Balto TV series "Homicide: Life on the Streets." I fully expect that dog to come bolting at the gate any second now.

great silvery, black, gray tonal range from mastaliu in this nice composition that makes some industrial-strength laundry equipment look absolutely totemic (the god of laundry?)

a slice through the ice from Petronius, who, in one of replies to a comment, provides a nice defense for not retouching scratches.

I can feel the sticky heat of the climate in Vietnam in dwp's Banana Boat.

Pastor Chris gives us a Kierkegaardian moment in his "Leap of Faith"

Frank Petronio. Glad he opted to resist temptation and not to have "smile" tattooed on his pate. Somehow, rather than looking like an alien here, the hood looks completely organic, as if it was meant to be a appendage.

Frank displaying a unique ability to disturb in the lower half of this image, Quinn's shed latex making this look very much like a crime scene in progress.

as counterbalanced by "raw" beauty (the title was "This is as raw as I can go.")
