Luigi (luiman); i picked this one because the land pigeon's wings are aligned with the sunslight slashes:
Greyscale, because it defines memorial day:
Pickett Wilson, because of the little girl's expression:
Arvay, two sets of black and white tones:
Christian (ChEc):
Michael Markey; THIS is a british bulldog:
Pickett Wilson; who says small town life can't support street shooting?
cfritze; the extruded aluminum rails look malevolent somehow:
jesse1dog:
Raid, bliss:
rbeimer:
alistair, best portrait of the week:
lynnb, my favorite shot of the week; i'd like to have that blue heeler pup:
gho, even though i don't get the photog's accompanying comment:

The best camera is one that still works!
Thankyou tigerphil and Paul for the mentions.
reiki ... there's something about the composition that works for me and the combination of colours.
huntjump ... simple and effective high key still life.
lynnb ... the dark legs in the background add a question.
barnwulf ... my favourite from the excellent series that Jim posted.
frank v 2 ... great light and composition with an unusual looking model.
Martini ... great black and white really captures art in engineering!
Michel Marky ... I love the rather cynical eye in the background.
ChEc ... great geometry and light.
mgilbuena ... from the FSU comp submissions. I really like the way this tapers away into a haze of OOF grain.

I just spotted this image by Ariefb in the gallery and have to include it here. It has a wonderful atmosphere with that light streaming in. I think this may be my overall favourite for the week.

Paulfish4570 - at carpet level. Active babies can be hard to catch - I like the bit of movement, cute expression and toys, and the light is perfect, right down to the eye catchlights.
Chambrenoire - ice cream girl. Lovely candid, her eyes grab you, pleasing colour and contrast
Mackinaw - she likes film cameras. Personality, eyes, dof
Mudride - London after midnight. Ripper of a shot, even if we can't see him.
Frank Version 2 - Hattie. I love what Frank is doing with this model. Wonderful.
ElectroWNED - RFF210. Surrealism.
ChEc's tryptych has wonderful patterning, my favourite of the series
hteasley - Neighborhood. Captures the feel of suburbia at dusk, the colour and luminosity are beautiful
jbielikowski - travellers. Mood, atmosphere, light and shade
rogerzilla - in the long grass. Sweet, natural, and definitely more than a snap!
Keith - slightly disturbing, science fiction-like!
Thanks to Luigi, Jim, Tigerphil, Paul and Keith for the mentions.
