I saw some terrific photographs this week, most of which have been mentioned above a couple of times at least so I'll restrict my postings to those that either haven't been mentioned, or have only a single mention above...
First off is the enigmatically titled 2659236323_9bb18659c4 by lex:
Abstract, wonderfully silver-grey in tone and so sharp you had better be careful handling the print.
or maybe there always are and i am just enjoying them more and more as i'm starting to get into all the unique voices here!
one photographer who has consistently caught my eye but always seems to be in the netherland of posting (mondays), has been Carl (cmogi10). so many shots have a look of the late 60's that i just adore. guess i'm just a hippie at heart 😛
i don't think that this ever made it into the Gallery, but i did tell him it would be my pick and i'm honouring that.
i love this one! he fills the frame with the umbrellas, but leaves enough information outside to give you a sense of place. you don't actually see the rain, but you can feel it and even smell it in this one... how great is that?
OK, here are my picks. There were many excellent shots in the gallery this past week, many I commented on and I have 13 in my favorites. It has been a task going over the 13 to narrow it down to what are the 3 best for me.
Here they are:
deFocused - Poignancy amongst the shadows, to my eye a very well seen B&W capture evoking many questions.
david rowland - Almost monochromatic and yet to my eye the perfect amount of color, augmented by similarly perfect composition.
zeroeseight - Action and composition make it a totally super shot !! Tone aren't to shabby either.
