Missed picks for the last 2 weeks, and am back this week with picks.
To begin 2 back stage ballet shots each excellent with B&W tones and for the composition and the mood they convey.
Alex Krasotkin, I really like the scale of the gate dwarfing the man who appears deep in contemplation. I can see the reasoning for Alex's title "At Eternity's Gate."
Bushwick1234, I like the minimalist high key look of this, less is more draws you into it. Wow, that is a big photo!
Bingley, lots of detail in this and nailed the exposure. Well done.
Biomed, great mystery surrounding this in addition to the perspective, geometry, and light. I can imagine someone viewing a print of this in a gallery and purchasing it.
Andy1881, cool shot, if it were larger and I stared at it to long I might loose my balance when walking away.
Tigerphil, the power of a B&W photo, when your eye is captivated by an empty room and a doorframe.
And finally the color shots.
lynnb, this is special for its composition, perspective and wide open selective focus. Good to go through old negatives from time to time. I saw the B&W version of this and shockingly like the color as the brasswork and wood of he hull complement the hair and tan of the young woman.
X-ray, this has to be my shot for the week. Inferno comes to mind, nothing more to say the picture speaks volumes by itself. The fact that a LF Linhof was used in that environment is all the more impressive.
