fantastically immediate to me. i love the simple, strong lines on the couch and the equally strong, organic contours. the lighting on her face is about as perfect as you'd want.

also very immediate. the girls are strong subjects and they're very engaged at their capture. as in raid's photo, strong vertical lines in the background and great side-shadowed face

apparently, this is the week for sidelit faces for me. i think this one is great too. pretty hair to frame, secret little smile, gorgeous face.

with someone in that chair, this wouldn't be nearly as interesting to me. his expression is so wooden, too. i like the seventh seal reference. really strong image.

photo of the week for me. intimate, vulnerable, well-composed, beautifully lit. i think the details that make it really work for me are the OOF hand on the knee (it's busy, and so, clearly, is her mind) and the OOF legs (which merge with the sheets and look invitingly odd once you stop to look at them). the expression on her face is fantastic, and the captured moment is well chosen (or well acted-upon). she seems lost in thought but about not to be, as if she's made a decision but isn't thrilled about acting upon it.
