You know you can feel the cold! Great shot especially the snow on the trunks and the magic light.

this is a phenomenal picture. it's jarring, grotesque and a little mysterious. i have maybe a half dozen WTFs going on in my head, and that level of engagement with a photo is quite laudable. yes tones, composition, blah blah blah. it's great that way too. whatever. but there's a whole bunch of possible narratives that make this one really interesting.

just pretty. flat out pretty. nice light, nice lines. well done.

really gorgeous image. ghostly, swirly, evocative.

beautiful sunset colors, tremendous shapes. goddamn you, now i REALLY miss california. 🙂

mlehrman - i love the subway. and token booths are this really weird place in the subway. insulated from the personal-space-annihilating reality of the platform and the cars, paced at the oftentimes excruciating speed of, well, people with little prospect of career advancement. and yet, even there, we can see excitement.

astro8 - this one has a little porno-chic going on. i can just see the smoked glass table tops and the brown shag carpet. great lines, and the hair in the mouth is a wonderful detail.

steve kessel - chills and thrills! delicious color and bokeh, nice subjects. well done.

Here are my picks for the week:

paulfish4570, this reminds me of my youth growing up along the river in Connecticut. Well done.

raid, I like all the posts and reflections the perfectly placed Pelicans.

Oleg Tretiak, I like the stark nature of this, it would certainly make a nice print for the wall.

Happy_french_chemist, nice shot, a great viewpoint.

StefanJozef, a good essay on a collective state of mind.

huntjump, the KEEP CALM message part on the phone cover works well with the laughing woman just above it, well done.

Oldskewl808, the palm trees make it for me with this shot, kind of breaks up the industrialness of it in a nice way.

steve kessel, two of the Musketeers look like they want to beat Steve with his camera, but fortunately their hands are full.

MV72, very nice composition and tonality, makes a calm and pastoral scene.

ChrisWMartin, I like the lines and mid tones in this.

Chuck Cates, this is nice, the color works well with it.
